John has been a North Texas resident for almost 2 decades.
He was born in Red Bank, NJ and spent his early life in the small suburban town of Eatontown, raised by his grandparents and a working single mother. He later moved with his mother to Greensboro, NC, where he finished up his primary education.
John moved to Dallas seeking a better life on his own in a growing state. This is where he met Jimmy, a native of Pecos. They have been supportive partners for 18 years, and were married during that time period. They live together in Plano with their dog Cooper.
John has a Bachelor of Arts double major in Geography and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He's a proud Life Member of the UNC General Alumni Association.
He also has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Dallas, Jindal School of Management.
From his very first job bagging groceries and sweeping floors at Kroger, and later to the mega corporation of IBM, John has always served the customer. He has spent his tenure in Texas as a logistics manager of Evergreen Shipping, one of the largest container ship companies in the world.
John has always been entrepreneurial minded. He ran a now defunct link sharing service in the early days of the web. He founded Shamrock Container Sales, serving the needs of the resale shipping and storage container market. He now works as a real estate agent for a local brokerage in Plano.
John has served the public on the civic and volunteer side as well. He was the first Vice President of the Friends of Timberglen Library in Dallas. He was a member of the Association of Water Board Directors. He served on the Denton ISD Citizens Bond Committee.
John was elected to two terms as the President of the Board of Directors of the Denton County Fresh Water Supply District 11-A in Paloma Creek, in the Little Elm ETJ. For nearly 7 years, he presided over the board, overseeing a multi million dollar government budget and providing utility services to his constituents. Annual budget surpluses, 4 years of lowered tax rates, bond debt refunding/refinancing, and an S&P BBB+ rating are his legacy.
John's history of local party leadership and activism is extensive.
He's been a challenger for public office several times, an elected official, campaign consultant, campaign manager, organization founder, volunteer, and more over this many years of activism in Dallas, Denton, and Collin counties.
